I ordered 8 of these for office laptops, they give 2+ hours on HP nc6220 and 6910p laptops. One hiccup was that I had to reset default settings in the bios and reinsert the battery to get the nc6220 to charge them. When plugged in initially the batteries were about half charged and ran the laptop properly if the charger was unplugged, but when plugged back in the laptop would switch back to A/C power but would not charge the battery (as monitored in windows and by the amber LED on the laptop). The fix was easy and took a minute to do. There was no problem after switching them in the HP 6910p laptops.

One point to note also is to be sure your charger is 19 volts, otherwise the batteries would not charge. Universal/generic/aftermarket laptop chargers that give 16volts would run the laptop but not charge the battery.

CIRCULAR POLARIZER:
If you have ever owned a pair of Polarized sunglasses, then you now what this filter can do for your camera. By reducing reflections and stray light waves, this filter makes any scene that much clearer.
You will see more vibrant colors in bright scenes, your skies will turn a deeper blue, and clouds POP right off the picture. Reduce glare from reflective surfaces such as metal or water.

A polarizer works on a specified plain, meaning that the lens must be perpendicular to the direction of the main light source. As with sunglasses, they are parrallel to the ground, which works in most cases since the sun is normally above you.
The key to using this filter is that it swivels. Looking through the view finder, turn the filter until the picture is clear and vibrant. You’ll notice the image changing as you turn it. In this manner, you may even adjust the level of polarization.

A great deal for a very valuable accessory. This filter works perfect, and compared to the higher priced filters, is a steal.

UV FILTER:
The UV Filter prevents haze and reduces bluish tint in photographs by reducing stray UV rays entering the lens. It also has the added benefit of protecting the lens and glass from scratches and accidental damage.

There have been stories of photographers dropping their lens and the filter acts as a sort of impact absorber, shattering but leaving the lens unharmed. I would much prefer replacing the inexpensive filter, rather than a lens.

In my experience with the Tiffen UV Filter, I have noticed an increased amount of lens flare and reflections over my slightly more expensive UV filters. If I were you, I’d put out the small amount of extra money for a better filter, preferably multi-coated to reduce glare.

If you have an autofocus camera and shoot photos outdoors, this filter needs to be attached to the end of your lens. (If you have a manual focus camera you need a linear polarizer) The polarizer darkens blue skies (if the sky is light blue, you get deep, rich blue) and eleminates glare and reflection in glass and water.

With this filter, you can take a photo of someone standing in front of a window and not have the glare or reflection of the window shooting back into the lens. It also helps you shoot indoors at an aquarium (you can take crystal-clear photos of the killer whales and dolphins without glare from the glass).

This filter can’t take the photos for you, but it can make your photos look much more professional. The only thing to be careful of is the fact that the polarizer makes the image a little darker, so if you are shooting in dark light, you need a flash or a slower shutter speed.

This filter does its job. The action of rotation is not completely smooth, but the filter reduces reflections and deepens the blues of the sky. Here in Ghana it has been incredibly useful for highlighting natural skin tones when people are sweaty/greasy. There’s no getting around it in 90 degree weather and 90% humidity, but the polarizer cuts the reflections and makes people look much better.

When the sun or even a bright part of the sky comes into view, glare becomes an issue. This filter has been unusable in situations with high contrast, light shooting towards the sky in a forest. It’s what happens when you don’t pay the extra bucks for a multi-coated circular polarizer I guess. One upside of the lack of multi-coating is that the glass is pretty easy to clean. I hear that the better the multi-coating, the harder to get the filter completely clean.

Overall I don’t regret the purchase, but I’m getting a CPL for my second lens and it will be a $160 B+W. This filter is for my portrait lens so I’m not usually trying to capture extreme light situations. My second lens is an ultra-wide and I’ll be asking it to capture dramatic differences in lighting. Glare just won’t do.

Polarizing Filters

Polarizers provide color and contrast enhancement. Reflected light often shows up as whitish glare that washes out color in an image. A Polarizer corrects this problem producing deep, dramatically blue skies. It also removes glare from non-metallic surfaces, such as windows and water. Color saturation in general, especially outdoors, can be improved significantly.

A Circular Polarizer has the same effect as a Polarizer and is used on cameras with beam splitting metering systems commonly found on auto focus SLR’s (for most 35mm auto-focus cameras see your camera manual).

Area of sky most effectively polarized with a Circular Polarizer:
Point your index finger at the sun. With your thumb extended at a right angle (90°), rotate it around the axis of the index finger. It will point out the band of deepest blue from horizon to horizon.

The laminate does indeed cut down glare but at the expense of some clarity. Not sure in retrospect if I would have just gone with a clear PET laminate as opposed to the anti-glare. The anti glare causes a “refraction” effect. Off angle you can see the primary colors in the laminate. Other than that it does fit custom to the screen and is of good quality.

As everything in life, rose gloves are a matter of compromise, between practicality, durability and price. If these gloves were heavy duty for utmost protection, they would have been heavy, non-flexible and a nightmare to use in summertime. Make them too light and airy, and there is no protection from vicious thorns. Use new high tech materials like carbon fibers or kevlar, and they would cost in the hundreds.
As designed, these gloves provide a reasonable compromise with the bonus of being machine washable.

I am very happy with this earphones. Be aware though, that they really isolate noise, so if you are outdoors, you won’t hear cars, voices, etc.

After several hours of reading reviews for sports earphones, I chose these ones and I don’t regret it. They are comfortable (a ‘must’ for us Yoga practitioners or workout fans) they stay in the ears (there are several sizes to choose from) and the quality sound is really good, considering that these are not top of the line earphones, nor most of us need such hi-fi definition while jogging or working out.

The wire is strong enough but it doesn’t get in your way. I would like to have it a little bit shorter though, but I’ve noticed that earphones just come in two sizes: Too long or too short and I prefer the too long and use the clip, since I don’t wear my mp3 in an arm band.

If you are looking for comfort, nice sound and good looking earphones, plus a reasonable price, these are your earphones.

Prelude

Before late February, I didn’t know anything about MEElectronics. When I finally heard about the company and purchased my M9Ps, I realized that they were a company that I should keep my eye on. In the time since, I’ve had the chance to review their lower end IEM models, the SX-31 and M2s and I’ve been impressed by the both of them, in different ways. Now, I’m here with a review of the first generation M6 models, one of MEElectronics’ higher end IEMs. These apparently share the same drivers as the M9s and M9Ps and if that’s true, then I should be in for a pleasant experience. So, did the M6 IEMs live up to my expectations? Read on to find out.

Packaging and Accessories

The first generation M6s ship in a black paper box that shows off the IEMs themselves through a transparent plastic window on the front. In terms of accessories, the M6s include an accessory pack that’s incredibly similar to that shipped with the M9Ps, which is a very good thing. Inside the box, you’ll find a clamshell hard case, three pairs of silicone single flange eartips, a pair of generic black foam tips (similar to Shure “olives”), an airplane adapter and a cable winder.

Design and Build Quality

The M6s are made of plastic that feels rather durable. The cable is somewhat thick and rubbery feeling but doesn’t feel as though it would cause problems if not abused routinely. Inside the cable that leads out of the earpieces, there is a built in memory wire which helps route the cable over one’s ears and stay in place once the earpieces have been inserted. I’ve heard complaints that the wire is too stiff but it was relatively soft and pliable in my experience. The cable terminates in a heat-shrink covered gold-plated straight plug and doesn’t inspire confidence because of its lack of a proper strain relief.

It’s worth noting that the newer and more expensive M6s are equipped with a much better cable that features a properly relieved L-plug.

Comfort and Fit

Getting these fitted can be a bit of a pain sometimes because of their over the ear design and the memory wire that’s embedded within the cable near the earpieces themselves. The memory wire is soft and pliable but because of it being there, these aren’t well suited to situations in which you’ll constantly be taking them out of your ears. Once they are in your ears, they disappear. Using the included foam tips or Sony hybrids, I was able to get an effortless and comfortable seal. The earpieces sit flush with your ears and I found that it was easy to lie down on my side with my head against a pillow without sacrificing comfort. These are easily some of the most comfortable IEMs I’ve used. Isolation is rather decent as well with the right eartips but it’s nothing spectacular.

Sound Quality

Burn in: As per my usual, these IEMs were given 25+ hours of burn in prior to review.

Once again, MEElectronics has managed to impress me and even straight out of the box, I was enjoying the M6s. I will say that they sounded a bit hollow straight out of the box but after burning in for a few hours, it filled in nicely. In terms of bass, the low end is smooth, detailed and refined. That’s a lot of adjectives but they all apply in some way, some more so than others. It’s certainly a highlight of the presentation with more than enough boom and punch to make Hip-Hop and Electronic music stand out. That’s not to say the bass is boomy, far from it. Bass is well controlled and doesn’t overwhelm the rest of sound signature and rarely creeps up on the lower mids. The low end lacks the speed and extension of my RE0s but is certainly better in terms of quantity.

Mids are smooth and full sounding, if recessed slightly. The detail and clarity in the midrange is impressive for the price with full bodied and natural vocals and a nice sense of space and airiness. Treble is slightly emphasized as well, like the bass, and treble extension and detail are both quite good for IEMs in this price range. It’s worth noting as well that these boast marginally smoother and better refined highs than the M9s but slight harshness and sibilance can be heard on some higher notes.

The sound signature is warm, full, and smooth with a very nice and dynamic tonal balance throughout the sonic spectrum. The soundstage is nearly as large as that of the M9s but not quite as airy and positioning and separation are both very good for the price. These work incredibly well with a wide range of genres, including the aforementioned Hip-Hop and Electronic and also Jazz, Classical and Alternative/Rock. While these can’t match my RE0s in terms of overall quality, transparency and clarity, especially when it comes to the quality of the treble and neutrality, the M6s are very impressive in their own right, especially when you consider how inexpensive they are.

Value and Conclusion

The maroon versions of the M6s are available for $30 on MEElectronics’ website. The current generation model retails for $50 on the website but can be found for approximately $40 on websites such as Amazon and Overstock. At $30 for the first generation M6s, they are an absolute steal and you wouldn’t be remiss in buying the more expensive versions for the improvements to the build quality either. Despite apparently sharing the same drivers as the M9s, they are definitely superior in every way besides airiness. The M6s deliver one of the most entertaining sound signatures I’ve heard in a while and are easily the most competent performers that I’ve heard in the sub $50 price range and even outside of that range, these perform well enough to be worth a look.

I loaded mine with data and the next day files were corrupt and unreadable. I reformatted the drive and reloaded the data. Once again, files were corrupted. Terrible device.

I see these bad reviews and can only think that either they are very unlucky or I am very lucky.

First off I am a Network Admin, secondly I am a member of the US Army Reserve. This thing has held up on both of those two fronts with no issues. This is the first drive I have been able to carry with me no matter where I go due to its durability. I take it out to the field with me, to the range, and then the next day it is transfering files between rebuilt servers, laptops and desktops. I never follow the proper removal procedures because I don’t have critical data on it, I just yank it and go! I have had it for about a year or so, still works great and I love it. The reason I am here posting this is because I am going to buy another one

As I write this I am looking at mine, it is pitted and all the finish and lettering is worn off, but I just got done using it to transfer network card drives to a rebuilt laptop with no problem, I love this little flash drive

I bought two of these. Both were inconsistent when I plugged them in. Sometimes the ikon showed up, sometimes I had to plug them in two or three more times before they showed up on my screen. I returned them and Amazon replaced them. The two new ones behaved the same way. I returned those and got a SanDisk 8G. It is bigger [who cares] and very solid. Works every time. I strongly recommend it. Amazon service is great!

I have seen these in catalogs before & didn’t give them a second thought. Then one day when I was cleaning under & around all of my shampoo bottles, etc in the shower, it hit me that one of these might just consolidate all the shampoos/conditions & body wash that I have collected in my shower. So, I ordered one a higher price & I am so thrilled that I am ordering one for the kids’ bathroom where I had hubby put in an extra shelf just to hold all the shampoos etc. Now it will all be in one place, not messy & out of the reach of my toddler!
The other thing that I have noticed is that I don’t use nearly as much shampoo as I did before – I get a few squirts & if that isn’t enough, I get more – no more dumping a handfull of shampoo in my hand. I know I use far less shampoo than I did before I had this so I am no longer wasting it!
This is just the greatest concept & this product is very easy to keep clean & it works & looks great in the shower.
I would recommend this product to anyone! & if you don’t think you will fill up all four sections – get a smaller one but I found the 4 section one is just what I needed; one for clarifying shampoo, one for conditioning shampoo, one for conditioner & one for body wash. No more bars or shampoos cluttering my bathroom!

I bought this because I was sick of tripping over all the different shampoos and conditioners that I like to trade off and on with. I like being able to switch back and forth, but hated having to pick which ones would be the “lucky” shower versions, and which would be put under the sink. It always turned out I’d have way too many bottles in the shower and then I found this!

What a perfect solution. Not only does it store all of what I’m using, but if you’re one of those parents who always find yourself saying to your children, “What are you doing…. DRINKING THE SHAMPOO???”.

It dispenses the perfect amount, and though I paid twice this much somewhere else, I’d do it again in a heart beat.

Its neat, its compact, and it works perfectly. I’m frankly thinking of giving it as a gift for those up and coming events that I’m not sure what they need or want.

Update: I’ve had this for a few months now, and the savings in shampoo has more than paid for it. It dispenses just the right amount, and results in big savings.

The SilverStar Ultra H11 is the best halogen bulb you can buy. I have a 2010 Fusion and I’ve compared the standard halogen to the SilverStar. You can see a huge difference. The SilverStar was bright and white and had an even light pattern. The standard, was dim, yellow and had more of a scattered pattern. The Ultra’s are worth it!

I have purchased Silverstar bulbs for several different vehicles, cars and motorcycles. I have never been disappointed with their performance. Along with these Silverstar H11 lowbeams I am also running a pair of Phillips CrystalVision as highs. Both bulbs seem to produce a high quality white light and improve vision. To improve your safety and comfort for less than $25/bulb seems like a bargain to me.

I bought these mounts because they are rated for speakers up to 25 lbs (I have Infinity Beta 20 speakers that weigh 20 lbs).

Unfortunately, the vertical tilt isn’t a locking mechanism — it relies on friction from tightening down a screw. With my Beta 20′s, you can’t apply enough pressure to keep the speakers pointed out. They immediately sag until the bottom of the speaker is touching the wall.
